2025 Workshop Presenters

Ashley Shrader

Dr. Ashley Shrader, DNP, is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner. Prior to functional medicine, Ashley worked in various conventional healthcare settings, which revealed the algorithmic and impersonal nature of the traditional healthcare model that leaves many patients overlooked and disempowered. Dissatisfied and in the midst of her own health crisis, she began researching other approaches and discovered functional medicine. She pursued certification with the IFM and eventually established her own practice, Rise Functional Medicine. Ashley has a passion for gut and hormone health, especially as they relate to brain and mental health, and specializes in implementing this approach in athletes and active individuals. As a Yoga Teacher, Ashley believes that mental, emotional, and spiritual health are the foundation for the path to healing. Her career in healthcare reflects her own personal health and wellness journey which includes getting diagnosed with autoimmune disease and learning she has a genetic predisposition to developing ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).

Eyliana Gibson

Eyliana's journey towards Apothocurly began on the frontage road. After years of being immersed in the fashion and beauty industry as an artist and editorial stylists, she veered in a new direction towards self-discovery and healing to reclaim her spirituality and self, which had been left behind.

As she approached life at a slower and more purposeful speed, Eyliana found solace in holistic practices that brought healing from within and a higher level of awareness to her life's purpose. She realized that while her passion as a creator was very close to her heart, she wanted to whittle down what she appreciated most, and separate herself from the parts that no longer served her. The gift of healing through hairdressing and its profound effects became her inspiration, along with guiding people to see their own beauty.

Alisha Higley

Hi, I’m Alisha Higley, the founder of Tidal Wave Healing. My mission is to guide people on their healing journeys and help them reconnect with the magic within themselves. I offer a variety of transformative services, including Reiki, intuitive guidance, spirit baby readings, mediumship, Akashic Records readings and so much more.

My own path to this work has been deeply personal and transformative. For many years, I suppressed a vital part of who I am—my connection to Spirit and my inner witch. Rediscovering this part of myself was like finding a missing piece of my soul, and it completely changed my life. This awakening ignited a passion in me to help others uncover their own intuitive power, heal old wounds, and step into their full potential.

As a Reiki Level Two practitioner, I’m honored to provide both in-person and distance Reiki sessions, holding space for clients to experience profound energy healing. Whether I’m connecting with a spirit baby, delivering a message from a loved one in Spirit, or helping someone cut energetic cords through candle rituals, my goal is always the same: to provide clarity, empowerment, and healing.

At Tidal Wave Healing, I believe that everyone has the potential to connect with their inner wisdom and intuition. My role is to create a safe and welcoming environment where you feel empowered to explore your spiritual journey and release what no longer serves you. I work with compassion, intuition, and a deep respect for your unique path to meet your needs.

I’ve been blessed to work with clients from all walks of life, and one of the most rewarding aspects of my work is witnessing their transformations. There’s something truly magical about watching someone reconnect with themselves and embrace their inner power—whether they identify as a healer, a seeker, or simply someone curious about the spiritual realm.
If you’re ready to heal, explore your spiritual gifts, or just dive a little deeper into your own story, I’d be honored to work with you. Tidal Wave Healing is here to guide and support you every step of the way.

2025 ASL Interpreter Team

Summer Kai

I’m Summer! Sign name…Summer. It fits me.

I grew up in Massachusetts, went to an ITP in Tennessee, then moved back to Massachusetts to work as an educational interpreter for 6 years. I just made the cross country move to California this past year, with quite a few stops along the way. Now I am interpreting all over the central coast, and always looking for more opportunities for ASL in the outdoor community.

I love exploring the mountains, forests, and oceans. I spent 2 years living in a van with my husband working, snowboarding, and traveling the country on our way to the west coast. We visited 14 national parks and had the best experiences on our backpacking trips. I am happiest when I am in the mountains frolicking in the free spirits of nature, swimming in alpine lakes, exploring waterfalls, making campfire dinners, and finding some fresh powder on my snowboard.

Susie Devergranne

Hi. My name is Susie Devergranne. I live in 20 acres off the grid in the Santa Cruz mountains with my husband, 30 year old son, stepson and his wife in addition to two dogs, three cats and three chickens. We are rebuilding our homestead ourselves after losing our home in a large forest fire over 4 years ago. We are doing all of the building ourselves and are enjoying every minute. I’m so thankful to my father for teaching me how to use all of his power tools so many years ago! I have been a part of the Deaf community for over 40 years and feel truly blessed to have been accepted into the warm embrace of the vibrant Deaf community.

Jasmine Smith

Jasmine is a barefoot-in-the-woods kind of human, usually accompanied by her best friend, Beans—a 60 lb border collie mix with a level of cuteness that probably should be illegal. Self-identified as “anxious by nature,” she often seeks moments of calm through stillness (or snacks). An introvert who loves deep connections and even deeper cold rivers, Jasmine is kind, playful, open-minded, and funny in that quiet kind of way. She’s an artist at heart—acrylics, mixed media, and the occasional existential crisis—and a proud native-heritage user of American Sign Language. A CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), she was raised in the Deaf community by her beloved parents and carries that identity with pride. By day and night (because it never really pauses), Jasmine works as a sign language interpreter, blending language, culture, travel, and curiosity into one wildly rewarding life’s work. As someone who has attended women's retreats, usually as a reflective participant, she values the deep sense of safety, humility and inner peace these gatherings invite—and is genuinely stoked to join this retreat both as an interpreter and a guest.

Erin Griffin

Erin Griffin, NIC, was born in California and raised in New Jersey before finding her home in Washington State in 2004. She began her journey with American Sign Language (ASL) and the Deaf community while attending The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. In 2005, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in ASL and Deaf Studies, with a minor in Visual Arts and Butoh Dance.

Following graduation, Erin moved to Seattle to pursue a career in interpreting. She completed her Interpreter Training Program (ITP) at ASLIS in 2007 and later earned her National Interpreter Certification (NIC). In 2009, she relocated to Eastern Washington, where she currently lives on 10 acres with her husband, three children, four dogs, two cats, and a lively flock of chickens.

Erin is passionate about nature, gardening, hiking, and backpacking. She also enjoys spending time with her family and pets, reading, practicing yoga, and cooking nourishing meals. Her interests span comedy, true crime, herbalism, fire walking, and magic—reflecting her curious and adventurous spirit.

Sarah Fornelli-Pepitone

I’m looking forward to spending time with all the incredible Women of the Wild!

Born and raised in the Garden State, I’m a Jersey girl at heart. Nature has always played a big role in shaping who I am—there’s nothing that nourishes and grounds my soul quite like time spent outdoors.

I completed my ITP in Houston, TX, and spent a few years interpreting in Boston before making my way to Brooklyn. These days, I live on the Hudson in New York with my wife and our curious kitten, Luna. When I’m not outside, you can usually find me crafting, strumming my guitar or soaking up quality time with the people I love.

I aim to create a safe, accessible space where everyone feels seen and held.

Can’t wait to see y’all in the woods!

Serena James

My name is Serena,

I am from the PNW and currently live in Denver Colorado. I have been Interpreting since 2018 and have been loving the field and all the opportunities to grow in work and as a human. I enjoy being in nature, creating things, and making new friends, and pouring into the ones I have.

Belle Tower

I love being outside with my family! I have two girls 5 and 4 years old exploring life through their eyes is the most joyful experience. I love to cook but probably love eating more.

I have been interpreting for 8 year, graduated from PCC. I have an EIPA score of 4.1. Becoming an interpreter has enriched my life in so many ways, I am so blessed to have found a job that doesn’t feel like work.

Elizabeth Scheppler

Most people call me Liz and my name sign is basically Liz (ILY Hand traces a Z shape). I grew up in Texas and have been living in Ashland, OR for the last decade. I have a degree in Theatre and one in Interpreting. I've been interpreting for almost 30 years, and I've got 7 years of teaching ASL under my belt, 4 in high school and 3 in college. I'm married with a son who recently graduated from OSU. Right now I'm consumed with my passion project, expanding our ASL program at SOU and teaching people to sign throughout Rogue Valley, and I just got back from Gallaudet for the ASLTA Conference! In my free time, I like reading, loving on my dog, consuming news, and binging my favorite Star Trek shows.
